After a disaster involving coffee and my MacBook Pro, I was afraid that all my hard work of 4+ years was lost. I took my computer to the Genius Bar at the Apple Store. After taking apart my computer he said it was toast but he said that my data would be safe. He pulled my hard drive and emailed the amazon search page for the hard drive enclosures. I purchased this one with one day shipping. It quickly arrived and alleviated a lot of my stress when I found all my documents, keynotes, and pictures. Well worth the money for peace of mind. It was easy to assemble and has been very easy to use!

I picked up one of these to add an external eSATA device to a Linux system. Since "putting it into production" I've had absolutely no problems with it. I can boot on Monday and it works flawlessly until Friday power-down, no connection interruptions at all.I gave it 4 stars because during early testing I did see some connection drops. I believe the difference is that in production, it is under some level of continuous use - at least every few minutes. (I have swap and networked filesystem cache on this drive - the primary drive is an SSD.) Because of the way I use it those drops don't affect me - they may affect others with different usage patterms.

A small, solid case. Using a Samsung 830 SSD for backup. Up to 200MB/sec xfr with eSATA to Lenovo laptop. Prompt shipping, arrived in perfect condition. Thank goodness they included a small screwdriver for the tiny case screws.
