This is a plastic snap-on case. Once you close it up, it is very difficult to reopen to setup a different drive. I snapped 3 of the locking tabs reopening it.I tried to figure out the issue why this enclosure would not work on usb 3. Right now, it only works with USB2.Here is the error as reported by Microsoft windows 8.This device cannot start. (Code 10)The USB device returned an invalid USB BOS descriptor.Device USB\VID_05E3&PID_0731\0000000000000105 had a problem starting.Driver Name: usbstor.infClass GUID: {36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000}Service: USBSTORLower Filters:Upper Filters:Problem: 0xAStatus: 0x0

I purchased 2 of these enclosures and I have never been able to get either one to work as a usb 3.0 device only usb 2.0. I have a MSI 990FXA-GD80 motherboard. I contacted Cavalry support, they tested it on the same motherboard and say it works for them. Just to prove my motherboard was not the problem I purchased an Adata Flash Drive that is usb 3.0 and it works fine as a usb3 device on all my usb3 ports. I've removed and reinstalled the MSI usb3 drivers with the same result.I guess I'm suck with 2 usb 2.0 drive enclosures.
