The case is sturdy a shell on the outside and basically a pillow on the inside, both my drives sit comfortable in their respective cases.This is red blood case that will absorb strong impacts that will never reach the actual drive.If anything I have say I was surprised when opening the box out of the mail. The case is BIG, the images illustrating the product in this page DO NOT make justice to the actual size of this case. I wont be sending it back, it is not that important for me, it will take some serious space in my briefcase, specially considering I have two drives and two cases, but it is still within manageable dimensions. Nothing is a lie in the product description, but I am not that a technical visionary to transfer product dimension into a mental image of the projected space it occupies, so an image making a live reference of its size by means of putting the case next to a widely known product like a can of soda or a pen should help other costumers (Maybe I will even upload it myself now!). The trade off for a potential small size case is the REALLY safe enclosure it makes for the drives, I could have gotten just a sleeve, but it would have never absorbed impacts like this thing will. Consider this case kind of one of those briefcases professional hitmen carry their weapons in, it has the soft cushion inside, the hard shell outside and a good amount of free space for good measure, I have a couple of standard sized portable hard drives (toshiba canvio and buffalo ministation) and there is still room for a thumbdrive inside the case.The case IS aesthetically pleasant and GRADE A in quality, greatly built.Check the products images for my size comparison!.

this fits perfect on my 1 TB seagate portable hard drive. i had case logic but that one wont fit to 1 TB hard drive. glad to find this one. material is durable and will well protect your drive.

Bought this for my portable Seagate Backup Plus drive. Fits the drive with room to spare all around. The drive sits on top of a memory foam pad and an elastic strap holds the drive in place on top of the foam. If I shake it I can feel the drive sliding side to side a little- not sure if that will be a problem, but i guess i could put a little extra piece of foam in there to make it stay in place better. There is only foam on one side and a place to slip your USB cord on the other side. The holder has enough depth that I can put the USB cord inside and it isn't pressing down on the drive when I close everything up. I could probably put in two drives (one on top of the other) if I put the USB cord in the outside pocket. The holder is a stiff shell, but it's not totally hard- you can push the top and bottom in with your fingers if you squeeze. The zipper works well. If you want a holder that's almost the exact size of this slim Seagate Backup Plus 1TB you might not like this holder, since this one adds bulk and extra space around the drive. If you want extra "breathing room " around your drive, this works well. I bought the red- nice and bright so it's easy to find inside a dark bag.
