I have two other Fantom drives that have been running fine for the last three years, which is why I went with this one when I wanted even more space. It's quiet, fast (and I don't even have a computer that can take advantage of the USB3.0 yet) and has detected fine in every computer I've plugged it into so far.The only negative I can list is that the USB cable that came with it is pretty short.

This is my 2nd FD drive. The drive runs cool and the USB3 is a big improvement over USB2. The case is nicely machined out of aluminum and has a blue LED in the front and it runs cool with no fan. No complaints, both FD drives have been reliable so far. I have friends with the other popular WD and Segate drives who have experienced failures, so the extra price was justified for me.

USB 3.0 is fast, coupled with it's 7200 rpm speed. However, you get what you pay for.I've owned this external drive for only 3 months. It crashed last night while I was watching a movie. It restarted itself and begun clicking and knocking, going unrecognized by my computer from there on. I will not be buying another.
