I initially submitted a bad review on this product due to a shipping/packaging problem (not a hardware problem).To my surprise, I was immediately contacted by the seller, Storite, who resolved the issue without delay by replacing my original purchase.As luck would have it, I had problems with the new drive and again, was immediately contacted by Storite, who offered both advice and a willingness to replace that drive. As it turns out, the case is a very tight fit and the drive was contacting the metal side. I slipped in a piece of paper between the drive and case and the drive is now working fine. The case just snaps together, so this is about a 30 second job.On the technical side, the internals on my purchase sport a Hitachi drive (not some no-name drive) and an initial transfer speed of 60 MB/s on short transfers and 40 MB/s on big transfers. This drive works flawlessly on my Roku where I use it to stream high definition movies. The drive has the added benefit of low power, so no need for an external power supply - the Roku is able to power the drive from it's usb port.I'm pleased with the drive and kudo's to Storite for standing by their product.

I/O errors right out of the box. Plugged it into my Linux server and started copying backup data. After a few minutes I started getting I/O errors. Tried to reformat and start again, but same problem. Had to return it back to Amazon.
