Running out of storage space in your Mac mini or looking to improve performance with an OWC SSD? Now you can add a second 9.5mm or smaller 2.5" SATA Hard Drive or Solid State Drive (sold separately) to your 2011 or 2012 Mac mini with OWC's Data Doubler. This installation kit includes everything you need to install: the OWC 5 piece mini toolkit, a logic board removal tool, 4 rubber grommets, 4 hex screws, mac mini flex cable, & instruction manual. Full installation video available at our website as well.

This kit contains everything you need to add a second hard drive to your 2011/2012 mac mini including step by step instructions in a color booklet.The only thing I did differently was on step 11 (removing the airport antenna wire from the board). This could not be done due to the fact that a new plastic tab has been installed over the wire and it could not be disconnected.You are better off leaving the antennae connected. It is very easy to carefully pull it out of the case when you remove the main motherboard.Make sure you read the notes below each step before performing them and you should be good to go.

The tools included in this kit were perfect for getting the drive replaced in my Mac Mini. I'm an expert in computer technology but replacing the drive in a Mac Mini still made me think twice. The components are small and delicate and without the right tools are very easy to break. I found the tools to be exactly what I needed and worked well. I got the drive replaced successfully! Well worth the money!

This was my second kit I had ordered and what I thought would be a daunting task turned out to be not so bad. I used this kit to add a spinning drive as a second drive to two of my 2011 Mac Minis. I was then able to follow instructions online to create a DIY fusion drive (1 logical unit). Just not that the ribbon cable pictured looks OEM, but the one you receive is obviously not. I did not use the included drivers so i cannot comment on them.
