In my opinion, this is a solid case that is small enough to fit in a backpack, but big enough to hold many external hard drives and a cable. I also put note cards in the case.

This case is perfect for the Toshiba 750GB portable hard drive I purchased. It holds the drive against the interior with elastic straps and protects the device with hard and large rounded corners. The center fold inside the case flips over revealing a netted sleeve that is perfect for the USB cable. Light, small, and seems like it would help a lot if dropped... though I don't want to test it.

I wanted a semi-hard case for my portable external hard drive, and after looking at a lot of others on Amazon and in stores I settled on this one. I'm glad I did.First off, the case is well made. It has ample room inside for both hard drive and cable(s) with enough leftover room to stash a few USB thumb drives as well. The straps and padding are more than adequate, and there is a divider flap to keep the items on either side from scratching or damaging one another. The exterior is a semi-hard shell to further protect the drive, but it is also textured to make it easy to hold onto as you're storing or removing its cargo. There are also a pair of heavy duty zippers, making it easy to open and close.What surprised me about this case, though, is the price. It's a much better quality than a lot of the other cases I saw both here and in stores, and all for less money!
